Conviction

Job 36:5-12, ‘God is mighty but He does not despise men; He is mighty and firm in purpose. He does not keep the wicked alive but gives the afflicted their rights. He does not take His eyes off the righteous, He enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever. But if men are bound in chains, held fast by cords of affliction, He tells them what they have done – that they have sinned arrogantly. He makes them listen to correction and commands them to repent of their evil. If they obey and serve Him, they will spend the rest of their lives in prosperity and their years in contentment. After knowing his sin, then he has to be remorseful and sorry about the wrong he has done. But it does not end there, he has to be repentant; that is, being sorry enough to stop doing the wrong thing and then know that it is only He who needs to and can forgive our sins. That is why He accepted Abel’s sacrifice but rejected Cain’s. God desires that whatever we do; be it thanksgiving, seeking fo...
