What is faith?

Being a believer is synonymous with faith, so what is this faith. Paul tells us what faith is in Hebrews 11:1, ´Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.´ There are two things that essential for you to have faith. The first is that you need to have an intimate knowledge of God and with this knowledge you will know that He loves you so much and He is good with plans meant to prosper you. The second thing that arises from the first is that you must place your trust and hope in Him by submitting yourself to His will and being obedient and doing what He requires of you. His faithfulness to us really builds our faith upon Him because the more you let go and cede control to Him by placing greater faith in the Lord, the more you will see His faithfulness in your life and the more you will be confident and trust in Him and have more faith in Him. We need to trust and obey to be happy in Jesus, we need to believe and have faith in Him.

Perseverance

Hebrews 10:32-39, Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in an earlier contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For in just a very little while, ¨He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if He shrinks back I will not be pleased with him.¨ Habakkuk 2:3,4 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe are saved.´ All who accept Jesus and His Lordship over their lives face some sort of persecu

Hear Ye and Repent

Hebrews 10:26-29, ´If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and who insulted the Spirit of grace? There is only one way that we can be sanctified from sin and its power and that is by allowing Jesus to be master in our lives, by subjugating our will to His. Our justification came from Jesus through the cross and the moment you hear of this and are convicted of your sins by the Holy Spirit, you have no excuse at all for continuing to live in bondage to sin. To be justified you must believe in Jesus and to reject Him is to rejec

The Fellowship of Brethren

Hebrews 10:19-25, ´Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing , but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.´ Jesus ascended to heaven and entered the Most Holy Place, seated at the right hand of God, offering His sacrifice, Himself, and is interceding on our behalf, asking for forgiveness for our sins, and us seated in Him in heaven can access God w

The Gift of Grace

Hebrews 10:18, ´ And where these (sins) have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.´ We are already justified by Christ at the cross for he died to satisfy the penalty of sin, that is death, so that all our sins are forgiven and we overcome death and gain everlasting life. The sacrifice of Christ at the cross was sufficient once and for all that no sin is left unforgiven. Now this unmerited gift from God that we receive through His boundless grace, we receive only when we believe in Him who He loves so much and through whom He offered the gift, and that is our Lord Jesus the Christ.

I Am Forgiven

Hebrews 10:18, ´ And where these (sins) have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin.´ At the cross, all sins, past and present have been forgiven and hence there is no need for any other sacrifice. To get access to this forgiveness, all you need to do is to believe in God, His Son and His offer of salvation for you. Grant Him Lordship over your life, repent from your sins and turn away from sinful life then allow Him to complete His work in and through you for the glory of His kingdom. God loves you so much that He offered up His only son, who did not deserve it, to die in our place so that we could be redeemed and offer us the gift of being joint heirs with Him in the inheritance the Holy Father has in store for us. All we need to do is to make that choice of letting Him into our lives, and surrender the rest to Him.

Free in Deed

Hebrews 10:1-4, ´The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sin, because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.' The law or commandments were only a pointer to Jesus Christ for as the law brought realization of sin to men and death, Jesus Christ brought salvation and life. The annual sacrifices of atonement offered by the Jews were an imitation of the final sacrifice to be offered through Jesus the Christ. Unlike the sacrifice of animals that had to be done every year, the death of Christ Jesus, came once for all, so that we are set free and are free in deed.

Conquerors Through Christ

Hebrews 9:16-18 and 9:22-28, ´ In the case of a will, it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living. This is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood. In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. It was necessary, then, for copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter a man made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God´s presence. Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the High Priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now He ha
