Change Your Mind

Romans 12:2, 'Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.'  The behaviors and customs of this world shape the way that we think. The way we think shapes our values and our values determine our character. Salvation gives you new life, a spirit that is of God but your mind still remains the same and there results a conflict within you between the old you - your mind and soul (your carnal self) and the new you - the spirit of God that is within you.  The spirit of God desires to carry out the will of God but the carnal self is contrary to this desire and wants to carry out your will. Now God unlike us knows what is best for us. From the beginning of time, before you were created, God had a perfect plan for your life and His desire is for that plan to manifest in your life. But the Devil, whose ...

The Cleft in the Rock

Exodus 33:20-23, ‘‘“But,” he said, “You cannot see my face, for no-one may see me and live.” Then the LORD said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”’ We all just like Moses wish to see our Holy God, to be in His presence, but because of His Holiness and our sinfulness, we on our own cannot come to Him lest we will die. But our loving God wants us to experience His wonderful presence and for us now it is able to come unto the presence of the Lord, because there is our rock – that is Jesus’, is seated at the right hand of God in heavenly places and we are hidden in the cleft in the rock and can now see the glory of God before us. We can now with confidence approach the throne of God because we are hidden in the rock that has covered us with righteousness before God, so t...

Fear not the Plans of the Wicked

Psalm 112:10, ‘The wicked man will see and be vexed, he will gnash his teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.’ We should live in this world fear free, doing what the Lord has put into our hearts without fear of persecution because their plans to stop you from enjoying God’s peace, joy and hope; to dissuade you from believing in good purpose for your life and getting fulfillment from living and achieving your destiny; to keep you from exercising your power over sin; to keep you from experiencing God’s unconditional, selfless and boundless love; to keep you from maturing and growing spiritually into all you are meant to be; to keep you paralyzed with fear and many other reasons. Elisha once told us that we should not fear because those that are with us are more and greater than those that are with the wicked. They may go to witch doctors, they may harm your body but Jesus warned us to be very wary of who destroys the soul, that is the Devil, who is the p...

We Have All That We Need In Him

1 Corinthians 1:4-9, ‘I always thank God for you because of His grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in Him you have been enriched in every way – in all your speaking and in all your knowledge – because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. We that have been called into fellowship with Christ have been presented before God’s throne of grace in Him. His sufficient grace is unmerited mercy, favor, love that we have received from Him through Jesus Christ so that we are equipped with everything that we need to live this life in joy, peace and stability. We have the ability in Him to remain steadfast in His love to the end as we wait upon His return because He strengthens us and on tha...

LOVE – The Testament of A True Christian

Hebrews 13:1-3, ‘Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow-prisoners, and those who are ill-treated as if you yourselves were suffering. Believers are called to live a life of love for others. You cannot say that you love God who you cannot see if you do not love your fellow man who is here with you. On that Great Day, the Son Man when He comes in His full glory, He shall separate those that lived their life in love and reward them accordingly from the rest. These days are characterized by a coldness of the heart and relationships and it is tempting for the church to follow suit but we should not be complacent and become complicit for we have been called to be ambassadors of Christ and as ambassadors we represent the true nature of whom we represent and our God is boundless love and He fills and renews our hearts with His sel...

Choosing Your Master

Hebrews 13:5, ‘Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” ’ In whom or what have you placed your trust and hopes. Is it your wealth and money, like the rich young man that came to Jesus asking for the way to salvation, or is it in God? Having money is not a sin in itself but loving it to the extent that you are not willing to give it up for the glory of God is. Jesus told us that it is impossible to love two masters, you will love one and hate the other so do not mislead yourself into thinking that you can love both to the same degree. The society we live in is one of scarcity mentality where we are conditioned (thanks to the Devil and our carnal nature) to want to accumulate more than we need. We are never content with what we have. It is never enough no matter how much we have. We want to have a sense of security and obtain our value about ourselves from what we have, our...

God’s Wrath Against Mankind

Romans 1:18-32, ‘The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – His eternal power and Divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and se...

God Knows All

Job 42:3, ‘…Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.’ We live in this world proclaiming to know everything about everything, labeling the bible as a bunch of lies, and claiming that our evidence supports the non existence of God. Just look at the evolution of our knowledge throughout man’s history will reveal that in reality we know nothing. Scientists believe that religion and science to be parallel which might be true; but you cannot separate yourself from God just because you are a scientist. Religion is not God; God is love and is the source of all knowledge. Just look at all the inventions that man has made throughout civilization, don’t you agree that they came at just the right time for mankind. Professed atheists and all non believers for that matter that eventually give their lives to the Lord appreciate what that Job after his tribulations, that even though we may not know or understand everything, our hope resides in the Lord in wh...
