Romans 12:2, 'Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.'  The behaviors and customs of this world shape the way that we think. The way we think shapes our values and our values determine our character. Salvation gives you new life, a spirit that is of God but your mind still remains the same and there results a conflict within you between the old you - your mind and soul (your carnal self) and the new you - the spirit of God that is within you.  The spirit of God desires to carry out the will of God but the carnal self is contrary to this desire and wants to carry out your will. Exodus 33:12, 13, ‘Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Psalm 116:8,9, ‘For you O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before the LORD in the land of the living.’ We were dead in spirit but as believer we now live, through Jesus Christ’ death at the cross, we have been given a fresh lease of life, to start a new, to live only for Him who purchased our life with His, to share in His inheritance, to live in joy and peace and love for in sin all we had was heartache, misery, pain and death. God is giving you salvation, reach out with your heart and take hold of this life, this promise from a faithful and just God, to lift you up higher, from being a servant to being a son, do not hesitate, accept the deliverance of the Lord now and be counted among the living whose hope and trust is in the Lord, who are anchored on the Rock, the cornerstone that the builder’s refused that now gives life to whosoever believes.

Romans 12:2, ‘Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.’ By meditating on God’s word, by submitting to His perfect and good will for us, our minds will be transformed because His word is alive and when planted in a receptive, faithful and fertile heart, just as a small seed germinates and grows, and when it is continuously and constantly watered by His word, it leads to a transformation of your thoughts and the mind. You will find that your thoughts will no longer conform to the patterns of this world but will be conformed to the pattern of Christ. You will find then that you will be able to test everything that comes and happens in your life, knowing and approving the will of God for your life to pass while resisting and rebuking the attempts of the evil one to mislead, tempt and distract you from that wonderful and pleas...

Jeremiah 18: 3,4, ‘So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as it seemed best to him.’ Those that are in Christ having allowed the great potter to do His work in our lives, to transform our minds and mould us to be what He wants us to be in Him. Before we are His we are marred, blemished, wrinkled but when we accept Him, He re-moulds us, shaping us into what is worthy to be called His church. He knows what is best for us so let Him be the master of your life; allow Him to be in control, to order your steps and you will not fall. He will guide you in the right paths, enriching you in the knowledge of the truth. Let Him be the light of your life.

John 1:29-31, ‘The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and said, “Look, the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! Isaiah 43:18, 19, ‘Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.’ When you become a believer, you are born again and are a new being in Christ dead to His former life that was in bondage to sin. But how many of us really shed off that longing of the former sinful life we had, how many of us let go of the guilt of sin that was gnawing at us. Christ is in us doing His work in us and will continue to do so until we become finished, a master piece. Even though now we may be feeling undeserving, unworthy of His love, His promise, His faithfulness abides forever and He will never forsake us. His love for us is everlasting.
