We are Incomplete

When one makes the decision to accept Jesus Christ as His Lord and that He died for your sake so that you may receive eternal life, there is usually an expectation of change. You cannot go to God and remain the same for before you were living in sin but now you pursue righteousness as shown in Romans 6:2, '...we died to sin; how can we live in it any longer.' These initial times are usually the challenging times in a christian's life. But God will never leave you alone during these time of great need. You join Christ by faith and then you begin to know Him by reading the Word as is written in the bible and through prayer and fellowship. When Jesus was leaving the disciples so that they start preaching of the gospel, he told them he would send them something to help them as shown in Luke 24:49, 'I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power on high.' The helper was the Holy Spirit as further evidence

Salvation the way to prosperity

How often is man preoccupied with materiality. We are so anxious about what we will eat, where will sleep, what we will wear that we are willing to sell our souls to gain them yet in the long run what is more valuable, this things or your soul? God reassures us that we should not spend time worrying about things in Mathew 6:25, 'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?' Anxiety does not solve anything and shows that even though we profess our God to be Mighty, we do not have faith in Him to come through in our time of need. We should be more concerned with attaining the salvation promised. God knows our needs and He will fulfil them. He tells us this in Mathew 6:32-33, 'For the pagans run after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows you need them. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all t

Lip service to God´s word

If you went to church today, you would have seen a multitude of people celebrating the redemption we were given by the death of Jesus Christ. But if you had gone to disco´s and bars yester night, most of the same people in church would have been found there "celebrating"still. Now how many in the church were listening to what the preacher had to say and truly accepting to live what was said. Most of us practice religion on Sunday in the church acting all pious commending the preacher for a nice sermon but do we internalise it, live it, always. We should not be like the people of Ezekiel's time who God said were hypocrites as shown in Ezekiel 33:31-34, "My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them to practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instru

Marriage: The ordained institution

The institution called Marriage is God ordained right from the creation of the first man. The foremost reason for marriage is companionship as shown in Genesis 2:18, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make him a helper suitable for him." Men and women are destined to make a life together not only for bearing kids but for being each other rock, being friends, showing each other love. The institution of Marriage is ordained by God and hence should be broken by man. Divorce was not in God´s divine plan as shown in Genesis 2:22-24, "Then the lord god made a woman from the rib he had taken out of man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman for she was taken out of man.' For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and they will become one flesh." The institution was meant to be of a life time. The two beings were to be joine

Sex Overrated: Precedence over God's Love

Ephesians 4:18-19 "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity with a continual lust for more." Paul was saying this when he was referring to the Gentiles attitude towards Christ. But don't we see it alot these days in our society. Pornography is endemic. Access to pornographic material has been made easy and can be accessed at the touch of a button on the phone. Our local fm stations are also doing their part in spreading the message of promiscuity. Some are presenting avenues for those interested in illicit affairs to meet. The 'hot' topics are about casual sex, having mistresses and adultery. Our hearts are hardened and we are separated from God and His love, we have been deluded into believing that the sole purpose in our life is to d

Idols in the heart of men

Image
Our hearts are the Lord´s temple and when we give precedence to materiality and material things in our hearts, we alienate ourselves from the Lord. An idol is anything that takes the place of the Lord in our hearts, something that we are willing to sacrifice all else to attain. The Lord tells us this in Ezekiel 14:7-8, "When any Israelite or any alien living in Israel separates himself from Me and sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet to enquire of Me, I the Lord will answer him myself. I will set My face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord." How many of us worship things, position, favour of men and are willing to give up their soul to attain them, is it a worthy cause to pay. When will we wake up. The Lord tell us to repent!, to turn away from our idols and renounce all our despicable practices. Are we willing to? Es

Conversion: Just the beginning

There is no doubt joy in Heaven for one soul that converts and accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, but conversion is usually just the first step towards leaving a righteous and fulfilled life. The bible reassures us of this in Philipians 1:6 "...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." The Holy Spirit sent by Jesus to be with us will guide us as will the bible for the word is the word of God as written in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The bible further shows us that Jesus was the Word, the light that shines in darkness in John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and made dwelling among us..."  The Salvation of men was not an after thought to God but was a divine plan that culminated in the Coming of Christ to die for us. Accept Him for in Him is life that is the light for all men.

God dwells within us

God sent us the Holy spirit to be with us, to guide us, to comfort us. In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul said this, 1 Corinthians 3.16-17 "Don´t you know that you yourselves are God´s temple and that God´s spirit lives in you? If anyone  destroy´s God´s temple, God will destroy him; for God´s temple is sacred, and you are that temple." All of us who believe in God respect the church as a sacred place that should not be desecrated but we forget ourselves as sacred where God´s Holiness dwells. After Jesus Christ rose again, He sent the Holy Spirit to be in our hearts, yet no one thinks twice about desecrating our souls by corrupting it in evil and sin, engaging in pervasion for the pleasure of the brute within. The flesh makes us weak and our strength to overcome is found only in God. Since we allow ourselves to be desecrated, our punishment will be separation from God and His love for us. We need to treasure ourselves as God treasures us.

How deep is God´d Love for mankind

This scripture "John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." shows us the depth of God's love for us. Man was separated from God by our sinful nature and as a consequence we were separated from Him forever. Because of His compassion and love for man, He sent His son Jesus to come and die as an atonement for our sins and with His death, our sins were washed away. If you read on John 3:17- 18 "For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God´s one and only son." you will see that it is not the coming of Jesus that condemns man to death but that man stands condemned due to his weak nature that is attracted to sin just like a moth to fire. Jesus came to redeem us and bring us

Introduction

I created this blog in my quest to seek for fellowship with fellow believers and non-believers alike to share our knowledge of the Word and our interpretations. We are all sinners seeking redemption and love from God. I know that my God is the Almighty, He shall not forsake me in my time of need, He sent His son who died to Give me Life and that He will eventually return victorious. I welcome all both supporters and critics, believers and doubters come we share our perspectives on God.
