Conversion: Just the beginning

There is no doubt joy in Heaven for one soul that converts and accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, but conversion is usually just the first step towards leaving a righteous and fulfilled life. The bible reassures us of this in Philipians 1:6 "...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." The Holy Spirit sent by Jesus to be with us will guide us as will the bible for the word is the word of God as written in John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The bible further shows us that Jesus was the Word, the light that shines in darkness in John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and made dwelling among us..."
 The Salvation of men was not an after thought to God but was a divine plan that culminated in the Coming of Christ to die for us. Accept Him for in Him is life that is the light for all men.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
