We are Incomplete

When one makes the decision to accept Jesus Christ as His Lord and that He died for your sake so that you may receive eternal life, there is usually an expectation of change. You cannot go to God and remain the same for before you were living in sin but now you pursue righteousness as shown in Romans 6:2, '...we died to sin; how can we live in it any longer.' These initial times are usually the challenging times in a christian's life.

But God will never leave you alone during these time of great need. You join Christ by faith and then you begin to know Him by reading the Word as is written in the bible and through prayer and fellowship. When Jesus was leaving the disciples so that they start preaching of the gospel, he told them he would send them something to help them as shown in Luke 24:49, 'I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power on high.' The helper was the Holy Spirit as further evidenced in John 14:16-18, 'And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counsellor to be with you for ever- The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans:, I will come to you.'

When we accept Christ in our lives, we should strive for our love for our Father to grow more through knowledge and insight that can only be gained through daily devotions and prayer. We should also have faith that we will never walk alone in the daily struggles of life. We are a work in progress and as shown in Philippians 1:6, '...he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.' we are continuing to grow in Him.
