As For Me And My House, We Will Serve The LORD

Psalm 73:2-10,12, ‘But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills. Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence. From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits. They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression. Their mouths lay claim to heaven, and their tongues take possession of the earth. Therefore their people turn to them and drink up waters in abundance. This is what the wicked are like – always carefree, they increase in wealth.’ How many of us are envious of the wicked – the liars, cheats, murderers – of the world. Who Are You For?

Exodus 32:26, ‘So he stood at the entrance to the camp and said, “Whoever is for the LORD, come to me.”…’ The call has been made and you have to make a choice, who are you for? You can no longer sit at the fence, hoping not to be noticed. There are only two sides to choose from, either you are of God the Most High or you are His enemy. Atheism and Agnosticism beliefs that posit the non existence or the lack of knowledge of the existence of God are all forms of rebelliousness against God. They are a form of self exaltation where the there is no higher being than the self. They only bring hopelessness, despair and selfishness. So where are you? Have you made your choice, are you aware of the consequences of your choice, are you willing to live with the consequences of your choice. If you decide not to choose whether to do something or not is the same as choosing not to do it. Dear brothers and sisters, I hope you have made your choice well.
