The Narrow Road

Leviticus 18:1-5, ‘The LORD said to Moses, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the LORD your God. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the man who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.”’ The Israelites were warned not to do as where they were from or going to because evil is pervasive in this world, it is everywhere you look, in everything you read or listen to. Their only salvation lay in living a life of full obedience to God. The road to righteousness is very narrow and it is only found in Jesus Christ. That is why we need to focus our eyes not on the world or what is happening towards us but on Jesus Christ, the perfecter and finisher of our faith, our salvation, our mercy our righteousness. The narrow road is the easiest to take because the LORD’s load is light but the one least taken because the Devil is a liar and has misled us to believe we are happy when we are sad, fulfilled when we are disillusioned, we are successful when we are empty. He is the master of perceptions and illusions. Don’t be afraid, be bold and caregous and take the narrow road to your salvation.
