False Teachers

After making the bold decision of accepting Christ into your life as Lord and Saviour, you need to decide on the church to go to in your quest of knowing more about the Lord. But this is not as easy as it seems because there are many false teachers around peddling false doctrine in their attempt to ensnare the new converts and mislead them from the true knowledge of Christ.

So what do false prophets engage in, one they devote their time and topics to myths and endless genealogies of Christ aimed at promoting controversies rather than God´s work of faith. Their preachings have turned from preaching God´s love that stem from a pure heart, good conscience and sincere faith and turned to meaningless talk. They talk so confidently but do not understand what they say.
Paul told us of the rise and characteristics of false prophets during the later days in 1 Timothy 4:1, 'The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teaching comes through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with hot iron. They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.´

We are also told to be very wary of those teachers who have tendencies that reveal a love for money in 1 Timothy 6:3-5, 'If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.' This is not to mean that it is ungodly for our pastors to be rich because God blesses those who ask of him exceeding abundantly above and beyond their requests, but it is against them using it as a means of getting riches, substituting prayers and teachings for a fee.
