In search of God

John 15:14, 15, ‘You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from the Father I have made known to you.’ In Jesus we are now joint heirs of the promises made by the Father having power and authority and dominion over everything of this world and the one to come through Jesus. Rejoice because we are no longer servants but brothers with Christ, sharing with Him His glory. Mathew 28:19,20, ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.’ As His time to go back to the Father came, Jesus gave His disciples a charge to accomplish: they were to make disciples of all nations by baptizing them and teaching them to obey His teachings. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.’ When we live a life of love through obedience to Jesus Christ, we have the confidence of asking anything from the Father according to His will in the name of Jesus Christ and we shall receive it because we are clothed in His righteousness. By granting us according to His will all that we ask through the name of the Son, God is glorifying the Jesus as His one and only Son who He loves and lives a life of obedience. John 14:27, ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’ Jesus Christ gives us peace that transcends above the storm so that even the midst of turmoil, we remain at peace and retain our joy and fear will not overtake us and cause us to despair and loose hope. Where there is peace there is hope and where there hope, there abounds joy. This gives us power over the plans of the Devil so that even when He brings the greatest trials and troubles our way, we will continue to live in faith, believing that we are more than conquerors in Christ who strengthens us, having already received the victory over the challenges we are facing. John 14:26, ‘But the Counselor, the holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have said to you.’ The Holy Spirit reveals to us the truth about God, His immense and boundless love for us, His mercifulness and faithfulness, His divine justice and judgment and His sovereign will for us. He lives in us, ministering, convicting, guiding, leading admonishing, edifying as that still small voice within. The Holy Spirit speaks what He hears from the Father, guiding us into all truth and teaching us more about Jesus so that we may know Him more intimately, more deeply to enable us to place our trust and faith in Him. He gives us spiritual gifts to members of the church so that through men, the Son may be glorified and the Son may glorify the Father.
