The Great Commission

Mathew 28:19,20, ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.’ As His time to go back to the Father came, Jesus gave His disciples a charge to accomplish: they were to make disciples of all nations by baptizing them and teaching them to obey His teachings. More than 2000 years have elapsed since His ascension and we who are now His disciples are still charged to spread the gospel of the good news that through God’s grace, whosoever believes in the one and only Son of God will not perish but have everlasting life. Many believers however are scared and ashamed into silence of sharing this knowledge with those in our life for fear of rejection. We believe like Samuel that if we minister unto them and they reject it they have rejected us, we feel obliged to convince and convict them into getting saved. But that is where we get it wrong. In love we need to share with them the glorious and wonderful relationship we experience in Christ and share the living word of God with them which He told us in Isaiah 55:11* it shall not return empty. Having heard the truth, it is the Holy Spirit, and not us, who will then convict them of sin, righteousness and judgment. If you remember your calling, it was God in His faithfulness who called you to fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, and He will do the same. Feel free to share the gospel and remember, the truth will set them free from the bondage of sin and the shackles of the enemy. *(Isaiah 55:11, ‘so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.’)
