The War for our Souls

Luke 14: 31-33, ‘Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciples.’ There is a war going on where two unseen sides are trying to win our souls, the victorious King who wants to give us mercy and eternal life because of the great love He has for us and the Fallen Prince, who wants to take us down with Him to the lake of fire that was created for Him because of His loathing and hate for us due to the great love the Father has for us. Now for those of us that have been selected by the victorious King, heeding His call, are faced with constant opposition from the forces of the Evil one in order to make them fall and lose their resolve. They use people and things that we have become attached to, to try and enslave us, tempting us to think of the cost of following Jesus as being too high. Yet Jesus paid the ultimate price for us, and nothing we lose can ever compare to what He paid for us. But just as Him, those of us that lose anything on earth for His sake will receive restoration, double portion, honor and glory from the Father after a short while. Be firm and steadfast in your quest and do not lose your hope.
