Living in Humility

1 Peter 5:6,7, ‘Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.’ When we are faced with difficulties, trials, problems, stress; we usually tend to get agitated, anxious, worried, angry and frustrated. We blame ourselves, others, the world and even God for our predicaments. At that time we try to get hold of the problem so that we can resolve it, in our own way, by our own might. We do not seek the counsel of the Lord to listen to His wisdom on how to resolve our problems. At this time, in our impatience, most of us adopt the end justifies the means attitude and we end up getting into more problems, digging ourselves even deeper into misery. We suffer because we do not believe or trust in the ability of our God to take care of us, to carry us through by His grace during the difficult times, to give us circumstance defying peace and His everlasting joy. In times of need, we should cast all our troubles on God, because he loves us so much, shown by the cross through His Son Jesus Christ. In so doing, we will enjoy joy and peace that will carry us through those trying times. God hates pride and He humbles the proud but to those that are humble and trust in Him even during trying moments, He gives His grace. In due time, according to His will and divine wisdom, He will exalt you beyond your imagination. Be humble and place your trust in Him.
