Live in the Light

Ephesians 5:8-14, ‘For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light is in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is the light that makes everything visible.’ In Christ we are children of the light and are to be the light of the world. We have been freed from the darkness and its fruitlessness and should receive this truth with joy and power, shedding of your carnality in Christ and living a life that glorifies the one that is in you, (Christ Jesus) a life of love and obedience to His word. Only then can we live and enjoy the fruits of goodness, righteousness, truth, peace, joy, love, hope and all other fruits that have already been released to us through Him. Meditate upon the word of God and let His word minister to you and the Holy Spirit to convict you, so that you may know how to please Him. Do not at one time think that you can live duplicitous lives, pretending and hiding your carnality to the world because all that is hidden will be revealed by the light to your eternal disgrace. Dear believer, live in the light.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
