It Is All For His Glory

Acts 3:1-8, “One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer at three in the afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.” God is sovereign. He is because He is. He does what He pleases. He is good. He is love. He is the creator of Heaven and the world and everything that is in them. Our Creator has a purpose for each and every one of us all. The ultimate purpose for us is that we may bring honour and glory to His Holy Name. In God’s original plan, a perfect world was created and placed under the dominion of man. But Lucifer through deception and trickery made man sin and hand over the dominion to Him. Through that deception, sin entered this perfect world and corrupted it. Through this corruption, both the man and the physical world have been degenerating. Sin is the reason why this world has untold pain and suffering. God is good and compassionate and His heart suffers at our suffering. As the disciples of Jesus, we have the Spirit of God in us and we are drawn out to the suffering of others with compassion. That compassion is what drew Peter and John out to the cripple at the temple gate called Beautiful. The man was taken out every day to this gate to seek for help from men. Peter and John saw suffering of this man and went out to help him the best way they knew how. They brought Him Jesus. And by the power in His name, the man was made well. The man after His encounter with the power of Jesus all he could do was to jump up in joy and praise God. At no point do you read that the man had enough faith or was expecting healing or was righteous. All we know is that Peter spoke in faith and the man by the power in the name of Jesus was healed. God healed him period. And isn’t that the way God operates in all things. When I was still a sinner, wallowing in my sin that was sure to bring me total separation from Him and eternal life, He sent Jesus to die for my sins so that I could have the right to stand before His throne in confidence and He raised Jesus from the dead so that I could have access to eternal life. I was saved not because I was looking for salvation, or even knew I needed it but God in compassion called me out to this salvation that is in His Son Jesus. For He planned it that way, that those that were to be saved, will be saved through Jesus Christ. All I had to do under the conviction of the Holy Spirit was to use my free will and accept His call. Even my salvation now is sustained by His grace. As a disciple of Jesus, I am drawn out with compassion to the suffering of the world that is misled through the deception of the great deceiver, whose main aim is to steal, kill and destroy you and I can only bring you what I have and that is Jesus. In Jesus you have access to salvation, you have righteousness, you have eternal life and you have freedom from the power of sin. God is calling you out my friend and my plea is for you to heed that call and exercise your free will under the conviction of the Holy Spirit and surrender you life to Jesus as the Lord of your life. He loves you and wants you to have life. Repent of your sins, ask for His forgiveness and make Him Lord of your life. When you do this, there will be great joy in Heaven and His Holy Name will be praised because in you, the world will see Him as He takes you by the hand and leads you to paths of righteousness for the sake of His Name.
