The Savior

Psalm 118:14, ‘The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation.’ In Jesus we find salvation, in Him we find the strength to forge ahead, move on towards that prize, that has been promised to us through Him. On the cross, Jesus suffered the judgment once and for all, therefore taking the sting out of death by satisfying the requirement of the law that demands death as a just payment for sin and in God’s divine wisdom now affords any that choose to believe in and surrender their life in total obedience to Him eternal life. Jesus was given power and authority over everything in this world by the Father and now that we as believers are in Him, we have access to this power and authority over the sin of this world, able to live as new creatures in righteousness in Christ able to patiently wait with confidence the judgment day, knowing that our sins are remembered no more while we are in Him for we are covered by the blood He shed at Calvary. Therefore when we feel fearful and despair because of the lies of the enemy, fix your eyes on your Lord Jesus, for He is the author and perfector of your faith and He will strengthen you and give you victory over the situations and circumstances in your life now and forever.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
