Strife And Carnality

Hebrews 12:14-17, ‘Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no-one will see the Lord. See to it that no-one misses the grace of God and to that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. See that no-one is sexually immorally, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterwards, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessings with tears.’ Strife among us steals peace without which, we are prone to have bitterness that brings rebellion and disobedience and fall from the grace of God. We need to put our carnality in check because it is our weakness in our walk in Christ of righteousness without which we shall not be able to see God. Carnal lusts breed sexual immorality and godlessness where we become susceptible to temptations from the great deceiver. Let us remember that on that day of judgment, even when we come to the Lord with tears like Esau did to Isaac, we shall not change the Lord’s mind but suffer for our disobedience and rebellion.
