The Peace of God

Mathew 8:24, ‘Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.’ John 14:27, ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.’ What kind of peace did Jesus posses that even in the midst of a fierce storm that had experienced sailors like Peter and John worried of capsizing, He slept soundly. That must be awesome fear-conquering peace and the good thing is that He bequeathed that peace, His peace, to His believers. This is the kind of peace that gives you calm assurance in spite of the circumstance that you are facing. A peace that allows you to rejoice in your suffering, to have a happiness that is not controlled by your moods, circumstances or situation. The world is full of troubles but we as believers have an awesome power at our disposal but sadly for most of us we are not aware and therefore do not take possession of it and allow ourselves to be possessed by fear and anxiety over the trouble present in the world which in turn make us doubt and loose our faith in God. Receive His peace in faith and you will be amazed at the happiness and power you will have in your life.
