The Great I AM

Hebrews 13:7-9, ‘Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace... Our God is who He is and anyone trying to mislead you otherwise is a just a plain old liar. He is not man to change His mind, to break His promises, to love and embrace what He abhors, Sin. We are to live our life of faith according to the model set by and the teachings given to us by Jesus Christ. Only then can we remain blameless and shall not be swayed by these teachings that try to mislead us to our eternal damnation because when we remain in the love of Jesus and obey Him, we cannot be taken out of His hand.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
