Delight in the Fear of the Lord

Isaiah 11:1-5, ‘A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him – the Spirit of Wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and the Spirit of power, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord – and He will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, or decide by what He hears with His ears; but with righteousness He will judge the needy, with justice He will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the world with the rod of His mouth; with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be His belt and faithfulness the sash around the waist.’ Jesus came and gave us an example of how we should relate to our Father in heaven. We should delight in the fear of the Lord, walking in the righteousness of Christ. Jesus came for the needy and the poor, those that needed renewal and rebirth of the spirit and were broken and poor in spirit, not of material things. When we accept Jesus Christ, we are filled with the Holy Spirit of God that gives us wisdom, understanding and knowledge of God, counsels us and convicts us when we sin to lead us away from sin and to repentance, gives us access to tremendous power over sin and the powers and principalities of this world and of the reverent fear of God. The word of God is life and has power to renew and transform that is why to this day the word of God influences lives. Our Savior is a righteous and faithful God able to keep His promises to us. If you do not listen to the word of God, you are sealing your fate in death.
