Mentorship
Titus 2:3-5, ‘Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no-one will malign the word of God.’
The old are the shapers of a society and in as much as they are living in the right way, the young who are the next generation will learn from them this right way of living. In order to influence a change in the society, we need to start with the old who are the sages and seers of this society. Young women learn how to be wives and mothers from their own mothers and this places a great responsibility on our old women in how they carry themselves out in marriages, homes, social places because what they say and do will inform what the young ladies will eventually say and do when they get married and start families.
