Let the Light within Shine

Mathew 5:14-16, ‘You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.’ Jesus Christ is the Light of the World and He lives in us that have believed in Him, placing all our hopes in Him. As a believer, we are commanded by our Lord to live a life of obedience and love, loving our God above everything else, subordinating our will to His and allowing Him to work in and eventually through us. We are to allow Him to renew and transform every area of our life so that when we live our life; all glory goes to Him who is in us. If Jesus is in us, then our actions, words, our plans will be a revelation of this truth, but if not then our duplicity and pretentiousness will also be evident. Let the light of the Lord shine through you in the way you live your life so that it may touch and illuminate the ‘way to this light’ to the world and praise and glory be given to god.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God.
