Stop Procrastinating

Proverbs 27:1, ‘Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.’ Most of us take the future for granted, believing that what we plan will happen. We procrastinate, putting off what we know we ought to do today, thinking that we have all the time in the world. But God is the only one who knows what tomorrow will bring. We are convicted to repent and be saved today but we put it off to tomorrow saying, ‘Let me enjoy today and then I will get saved tomorrow.’ But are you sure if you will still have the chance tomorrow, if tomorrow, your heart will be convicted as it was today, if you will be alive tomorrow. Don’t push off for tomorrow what you can do today, mend your relationship with God now, surrender to Him now and enjoy His boundless love and grace.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
