Grace of God

Titus 3:4-8, ‘But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.’ Salvation comes to us as a gift of God by His grace through faith in Jesus Christ. No one can claim to have earned his salvation because none of us is worthy; we are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God. Through Jesus the Christ, we are credited with righteousness before God and we therefore have the confidence to stand before Him in prayer. At baptism, in faith we die to our carnal self and are reborn by the Holy Spirit that fills us and renews us, revealing the truth about God and His unconditional and boundless love for us that is a transforming power in our life. Those that believe in His Son, whom He has redeemed from the Devil with His blood at the cross, have been given life eternal. Now those that have placed their hope and trust in the Father’s Son, should not lose this hope but continue to rely on His grace in living the righteous life of faith, so that we do not lose our way along the journey before us.
