The Living Word of God

Isaiah 40:8, ‘The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands for ever.” The word of God has life and imparts life to whomever hears it. It is eternal and it is the light of men. The word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. To those who receive Him and believe in His name, He has given the right to be children of God, born of God. Believe and obey the word of God and you will receive life.

God of the Heart

Mark 12:38-40, ‘As He taught Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the market places, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely.’ God is a God of the heart. He sees and judges what our motives are rather than our outward appearances. As men, we can deceive each other, living well scripted lives that portray us to be one way, earning the praise and honor of men, but deep down we know the truth about ourselves, we can fool everyone and anyone but ourselves and God. We need to aspire to live like David, only for God. We need to put His purpose above ours. We need to live by His will and not ours. We need to be men and women after God’s hearts.
